Services to Marine Civil Engineers

Harbour Civil Engineering

We can provide, among other things;

Worldwide vessel fleet analysis;
to assist your customer in deciding the optimum dimensions and layout of berths or installations.

Report on market size;
give guidance on logical dimensions to achieve maximum number of "in target" vessels.

Provide practical marine advice;
on vessel manoeuvring ability, berth approaches, dredge depths & channel widths (using internationally recognised guidelines such as PIANC, AASHTO, and USACE).

"Will a vessel fit" advice;
including link-span asessment, tidal analysis and individual vessel surveys.

Advice on Mooring provision;
Including overall capacity, best position and type, using OPTIMOOR industry standard software, and incorporating if required Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) guidance. This can be tailored to individual ships or classes, or on a most flexible array option.
Once installed we can (as an added value service that you can sell to your clients) provide guidance to Port facility users on assessment of adequacy of ships moorings on each visit, and devise an inspection and testing regime for the bollards, including training for staff.

Perform Marine risk assessments,
including writing contingency and emergency plans for the marine element of construction phases, and advising on work instructions and training for staff. (an area where experience has shown even sophisticated construction companies often are found lacking)

Marine Simulations
We can (either at you or your clients behest) advise, plan, set up and then conduct marine simulations. This will include the services of appropriate professional mariners including qualified Ships Master's, Harbour Masters & serving pilots, and can involve the client at all stages of the process.

And if we can't deliver something in the Marine Sphere that you require, we will know someone who can. Just ask or call us for an informal discussion.
